Fireburn: A Novel by Apple Gidley

I had the distinct opportunity to create the book cover design for Fireburn by Australian author and St. Croix resident, Apple Gidley. Fireburn is a novel which "tells the story of a little-known historical event in the Danish West Indies (now the US Virgin Islands). It is a love story - for an island, for a man, for a child (Gidley, 2017)." The novel is set for release on October 1, 2017. This date is significant to St. Croix's history because, on October 1, 1878, a labor rebellion occurred on the island. Gidley's novel was inspired by that event.
